With the ISO14001 certification, we are conducting the production considering Environment.
We will produce the products which solve the health problems mainly developing and emerging countries’ people are facing. And we are very careful about healthy issues of employees working at TOYOTOMI.
We will make the contributions required by society, not only in Japan but also in the world.
It is estimated that about 4.5 billion people out of a global population of about 7 billion people, known as BOP (Base of the Pyramid), live on an annual income of less than about 300,000 yen.
Many of these 4.5 billion people live on primitive biomass fuels such as poorly made cooking stoves, firewood, and cow dung.
About 4 million people die from respiratory diseases due to the use of primitive biomass fuels such as poorly made cooking stoves, firewood and cow dung.
In keeping with our corporate philosophy of "Contributing to Society," we are committed to making TOYOTOMI's safe cooking kerosene cooking stoves available to people in the BOP group.
We are working on the development of BOP cooking stoves.
Toward improving the living and health conditions of people in emerging and developing countries, TOYOTOMI is developing cooking stoves that are not only healthy, but also safe and economical for the BOP group. However, the price is not affordable for BOP people. We are constantly researching and developing new products to make them more affordable for the BOP class.
For the approximately 2.7 billion people in the BOP class, there is a limit to what a single company can do, and we can only expand our business to a limited number of regions. In order to deliver the valuable "BOP cooking stove" to BOP people around the world, we, TOYOTOMI, are looking for a business partner who can take charge of promotion and sales activities. We invite you to join us in our pursuit of global value creation for "better living" around the world.
TOYOTOMI BOP① Republic of India
We are developing new business methods that involve the power of women, especially housewives. Through the leadership of housewives' groups, we are promoting the benefits of our kerosene cooking stoves to consumers through PR activities that lead to sales. We also aim to create employment opportunities for housewives to increase their family income and improve their lives.
TOYOTOMI BOP② Federal Republic of Nigeria
Demand for kerosene cooking stoves is very high, and many products are actually in use in Nigeria, including approximately 4 million units of local products. We are aiming to expand sales together with our local sales partners in Nigeria by creating pennants with PR points, etc. to promote our products.
Immediately after the earthquake, the Tohoku region was still suffering from severe cold weather, including snowfall, even in March. It took a long time to restore electricity and gas supplies, and kerosene heaters, which do not require a power source, were very useful in the severe cold. In response to this situation, we donated 800 kerosene heaters to the victims of the disaster through the local government as part of our support for the affected areas.
We have been holding the "East Japan Support Sale" at our exhibitions to contribute to the reconstruction of the disaster-stricken areas. During the campaign sale, we sold FF heaters and POT kerosene stoves. A part of the sales was sent to the affected areas through the Japanese Red Cross Society as a donation for the Great East Japan Earthquake.
We shipped RBE-25C convection kerosene heaters to Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya City in order to provide them to victims who evacuated to Aichi Prefecture due to the Great East Japan Earthquake. We will continue to cooperate in any way we can, even if it is in a very small way.
TOYOTOMI actively interacts with the local community in order to increase interest in manufacturing "for the community" and to promote understanding of TOYOTOMI.
Fifty-six elementary school students (age 10~12) and their parents living in Mizuho-ku visited our company. They were very interested in seeing the process of making a kerosene heater, and asked many questions during the Q&A session, which exceeded the scheduled time. We will continue to actively participate in such activities in the future.
About 20 members of the Nagoya Hearing Impaired Parents Association toured the company and saw hearing-impaired employees at work. They also had a chance to talk with our hearing-impaired employees.
Eleven students from the first through third grades of the Nagoya School for the Deaf participated in the company tour as a field trip. The participants later received letters of appreciation.
